Day 93. Conclusion.

Well, the big weight-loss race is over. And we finished 2nd, out of all companies participating across the country. It didn't come down to a dramatic finish though, 1st place was ahead of us by a healthy amount. My own personal weight? I couldn't accurately tell you right now. Not my goal, that's all I know.

I'm a little lackluster in my blogging efforts again. Which to me, means I'm simply not doing enough to elaborate on. That should change soon. In fact, something else may change. There is a burger competition happening across local restaurants. It's a big promotion for local beef, as we are surrounded by farms. One of my plans for spring/summer was to visit said farms to see how they operate. I've come to the tentative decision that I may try a couple contest entries. I've been watching a lot of food shows lately, and they've reminded me, not too subtly, of how delicious dishes made with meat can be. I do think it's a wonderful component of culinary arts, and my deprivation has been more to do with responsibility than palate. I feel like this contest goes in stride with my beliefs: locally sourced food, prepared with care and showcased as something special. Not just 99 cent Chinese-imported mixed bag beef parts kept in a warming tray for my convenience, multiple times a week, or even day.

But I'm not convinced I'll go through with it. I'm proud of my commitment to this veggie thing so far, and also recently escaped some vicious food poisoning when I did not take part in a pizza with beef on it. The contest is on until May. I have some time to think it over.
