Well, February, you were a wash. I blame myself as much as I blame you. You and your miserable, insufferable, depressing conditions. But I know better than to use you as an excuse.
Looking back, I'm not sure I did anything right this month. I didn't start any new rules, and barely enforced the ones I had. I gained some weight and fell further out of shape. I turned into a spiteful hermit and spent the scarce hours of sunlight indoors staring at a computer screen. I'm back to being everything I don't want to be.
March is right around the corner and, like Jessica, I am the queen of fresh starts. I still look to the calendar rollover as a time to really, really get going and be insanely ambitious. I am ready to try again.
I have made a bit of a dent in my debt though; I will take some pride in that. According to my calculations, it will take 53 more work days to be completely debt free. With no other expenses, however. One March goal is to survive off of the food in my cupboard. We all have those canned goods and frozen things we never touch. I'm going to touch them. I'm going to touch them all over. And put them in my mouth. And harvest their life essence.
After all, that is where all my money goes. Food. It has to be. I don't have any nice clothes, all my electronics are secondhand, I'm driving a 16 year old car...but a day doesn't go by without spending hard-earned cash on food. Whether it's $3 for a bagel or $13 on pub food...I bleed money into the fleeting pleasures of mealtime.
March, I'm going to be resourceful, just you wait and see..
